It is so cold at the moment.
I am not in anyway enjoying being here cause its freezing cold and i dont like being here. erm. I am cold and want to be at home. England is stupid in the winter cause the heating sucks.
"oh you shouldnt be cold. you are Canadian. what is wrong with you" could it be that in Canada we turn the heating on in the winter and dont sit around in the cold weather? I think that the answer is yes.
Basically today sucks and i dont want to be here at all.

On the Road Again!
Guess what my people.
I drove in England. no lie. and it wasnt even my idea! i was told to do it!! of course i did not have to be begged. I did it very willingly.
it was not a long journey. just across the estate, but it was more driving then i have done in the past 7 months. so i was happy. and then when i was totally done it was the weirdest experiance.
I threw the keys to josh. it was just weird because it was something that i never would have expected to happen you know?? so i was a very happy girl. and i drove on the "wrong side" but it was the English correct side. sooo fun!! and there may be some more driving in the near future!! haha.
Well. that is all. what a trill eh. soo great!!

Sunday.
Word.
Today is Sunday. I was very tired. I went to tea at someones house. (tea dropping..but not as bad as wood)
Erm. there is really nothing to report. I start the week tomorrow. I am okay about that. i mean. yeah. i get bored but who doesnt. I am sure it will be good. I get to sing with the toddlers. lucky me lucky me!! haha

walking...
So here in England my main mode of transportation is my feet. sometimes it is in Joshes car but mostly it is my feet. and i dont mind. sometimes it is a little wet and that is no fun but usually i just tuck the bottom of my jeans into my socks, a trick a friend showed me, and i am fine.
Well. On the night of October 15 2008 at approximately 937 i was walking home from church and it had been raining. there were puddles on the road. mostly next to the side walk. i was walking. cars were driving. I saw one coming so i waited till it drove by and then walked past the puddle. then the next time i was not so wise.
The car came. I walked. it hit the water at about 30 miles per hour. i was in the wrong place and the wrong time and was then covered in dirty england puddle water. head to toe. i had just showed that day and was wearing clean jeans. the only joy in this event was that i had on a winter jacket.
so then i said something i regret. (a swear) and cried all the way home. well to Evies house.
how sucky is that. i am shocked that people think that splashing people while they drive is funny. you can get a ticket for it here. for real. I saw it on the news.
but i have since recovered and dried off. I think by tomorrow i will be able to laugh about it.

Giving thanks.
It was thanksgiving in Canada yesterday. I am England.
A wonderful family from the church i am working at had a nice and big and canadian styled thanksgiving dinner for me last night. It was sooo much fun. and perfect. We ate lots and they even had stove top stuand ffing. that is the kind that my mom always makes. oh it was the best.
Then after dinner we all took part in a very fun scavenger hunt, just like at home!! followed by pumpkin pie and a board game!!
It was the perfect away from home thanksgiving!! was really great to be around my friends and new family!!! wonderful really!!
I had lots to be thankful for this thanksgiving!! yes i did!!

Seven Months Later
So. I have been in England for 7 months.
Erm. What can i say. I am close to Blackpool but not in Blackpool. But i like it here.
England is a good country. It calls to me and says "stay Karlye"
Today i am staying late because i cant be bothered to go all the way home and come back. I have kids cell tonight! i do enjoy that! and then tonight i go home and sleep and then in the morning i can have a proper sleep in!! oh i do like that too. Yesterday was my day off and i watched three films. not in a row. I took a break to make pasta bake. pasta bake i think is not given the props that it deserves. It is so good. cheesy and saucy all at the same time. It comes second best to my darling steak. I do like food. England has yorkshire puddings. so good.
I think that is all i will say today. I am going to read a book i think. maybe knit? I have become somewhat of an old soul being here. i like to call it embracing my inner grandma. everyone has one you know. but sometimes we just forget!!!
